Perspective

Our perspective is a pinhole perspective.  We can only see one tiny little spot at a time. We are limited by our finiteness. We can only see, hear, smell, taste and feel so much at any given moment.  But our eternal God who has created everything and sees everything and knows everything has the overall perspective. This is a big reason to trust Him and not ourselves.

Another thought on perspective is perspective from above. When you fly in an airplane you can see so much more area and things appear smaller!  As you ascend cars look like tiny toys and people appear as mere specks.  Once you are at a higher altitude you can see the clouds underneath you.  It is amazing how we can see things so differently when higher up.  Just think how high our Great God is and how He can see it all. As finite beings we can see the bigger picture from the air but not the details.  Our God knows the big picture and the tiny details.  Psalm 147:4-5 talks about our God saying, “He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.  Great is our Lord, and of great power:  his understanding is infinite.”  God knows all the stars and their names and yet He knows all about us. Psalm 139:1 “O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me.  Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.”  See all of Psalm 139.
